Next Energy Technologies (NEXT) is looking for a technician to join our R&D team. We are seeking a highly motivated applicant who prides themselves on outstanding work. Employment Type: Full Time (hourly)
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Basic Job Functions: On the job training will be provided. Fabrication/coating, characterization, and/or testing of solar cells in an R&D environment.
Compensation: $18/Hr with a maximum of 20% overtime plus benefits.
Mandatory Requirements:
Positive attitude, integrity, reliability, aptitude and eagerness to learn, and ability to change direction quickly.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to multitask, work well and safely without close supervision.
Able to maintain accurate, detailed, and organized laboratory notebook.
Able to work with very small components.
Able to use hand tools for fabrication and laboratory maintenance.
Must interface successfully with engineers and personnel of other disciplines.
Must be able to follow safety protocols/standards.
Able to work in a cleanroom environment, including abiding by cleanroom protocol, wearing appropriate gowning and PPE.
Experience working in a lab environment is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
On the job training will be provided.
Weighing materials and solution preparation.
Cleaning and preparing substrates.
Thin film deposition.
End-to-end device fabrication.
Measurements of thin films and solar cells.
Assist in material and device development.
Operating and maintaining of scientific equipment.
Operate glass washing equipment.
General laboratory duties, including maintaining inventory of lab supplies.
Capturing, handling, transferring data and reporting experimental result.
Assist in the design, development, and building of test equipment.
Provide support to R&D engineers and scientists.
Other duties as assigned.
Able to lift 25 lbs.
Work in a glove box.
Able to stand for most of the day.
